Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MEILO (the “Platform”), operated by Gita Care Technologies Private Limited (“MEILO”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all visitors and users, including consumers, artists, and studio partners. Artists and studios are additionally bound by the Artist Addendum in Section 6, which governs their professional listings, content uploads, and conduct on the Platform.

2. Platform Use

MEILO is a style intelligence platform connecting consumers with independent hair, nail, and makeup artists and studios. You may use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Platform in any way that violates applicable laws or these Terms
• Transmit unsolicited or unauthorised commercial communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data without our written permission
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or infringes any third-party right
• Interfere with the normal operation of the Platform or other users' access

3. Accounts

To access certain features you must create an account using your mobile number, verified via one-time password. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access to your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. MEILO is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app, or by signing in on the website and using the Delete Account option at the bottom of your profile page. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, uploads, saves, and reports, subject to the Data Retention provisions of our Privacy Policy.

4. User Content

“User Content” means anything you submit to the Platform, including profile information, look photos (artists), preferences, saves, reviews, and reports. You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content, you grant MEILO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for variant rendering and image processing), display, and distribute that content for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform. This licence survives termination of your account only to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations or to retain anonymised or aggregated data.

You represent and warrant that (a) you own or have all rights necessary to grant this licence; (b) your content does not infringe any third-party rights, including image, privacy, and publicity rights of any person depicted; and (c) you have obtained any required consent from clients or models photographed in look uploads.

MEILO may, but is not obligated to, review, moderate, or remove User Content that we believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, with or without notice.

5. Bookings & Platform Role

Artists and studios listed on MEILO are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, or partners of MEILO. MEILO acts only as a discovery and connection layer.

When you initiate a booking via call, WhatsApp, an external link, or any other channel surfaced on the Platform, the resulting service arrangement, payment, quality, safety, and dispute resolution are solely between you and the artist or studio. MEILO does not:

• Employ, supervise, or vet the personal conduct of artists or studios
• Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service
• Process or hold payment for services rendered (as of the date of these Terms)
• Act as a party to any contract formed between consumers and providers

Information shown on the Platform — including ratings, reports, booking channels, pricing tiers, and availability — is provided by artists, studios, or aggregated from user interactions. While we take reasonable care, we do not warrant its accuracy or completeness.

6. Artist Addendum (Artists & Studios)

This section applies only if you use MEILO as an artist, stylist, or studio partner. By creating an artist or studio profile, or uploading professional content, you agree to this Addendum in addition to the rest of these Terms.

6.1 Eligibility & Accuracy. You represent that you are legally authorised to provide the services you list, that all profile information (name, qualifications, specialisations, studio affiliation, location, contact channels) is accurate and current, and that you will update it promptly when it changes. Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate suspension.

6.2 Content Licence for Look Uploads. When you upload a look photo or service report, in addition to the licence in Section 4 you grant MEILO the right to: (a) generate and serve image variants (thumbnail, feed, full, admin) via our CDN; (b) attribute the look to your profile in discovery surfaces, search, AI assistant responses, and editorial collections; (c) include the look in promotional material featuring the Platform, with credit to you; and (d) retain anonymised technical metadata (dimensions, dominant colours, category tags) after deletion of the original image.

6.3 Client Consent. You must obtain explicit, informed consent from any client or model depicted in look uploads before submitting them. By uploading, you confirm such consent has been obtained and that you can produce evidence of it on request. You are solely responsible for any claim arising from a depicted person.

6.4 Conduct. You agree to conduct yourself professionally with clients booked through MEILO, to respect appointment commitments, to charge fairly and in line with any pricing tier you have declared, and to handle client data shared via the Platform with confidentiality. Harassment, discrimination, unsafe practice, and misleading commercial conduct are prohibited.

6.5 No Off-Platform Diversion. You may not use the Platform primarily as a lead-generation tool to divert clients to channels that exist solely to circumvent MEILO. You are free to use external booking, payment, and communication tools (including those linked from your MEILO profile), but systematic encouragement of users to leave the Platform — for example, including off-platform contact prompts in look captions, reports, or profile bios when those are not the natural booking channel — is grounds for suspension.

6.6 Reviews & Reports. Service reports you submit about clients, and reviews clients submit about you, are platform features designed to build trust. You agree not to (a) submit knowingly false reports, (b) coerce clients into submitting or withdrawing reviews, or (c) offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews. We may remove reviews or reports we believe violate this clause.

6.7 Suspension & Removal. MEILO reserves the right to suspend, downrank, or permanently remove an artist or studio listing — with or without prior notice — for violation of these Terms, repeated client complaints, evidence of unsafe practice, fraud, intellectual-property infringement, or any conduct we reasonably believe harms the Platform or its users. We will notify you of the reason where lawful and reasonable to do so.

6.8 Disputes & Grievance. Disputes between artists/studios and clients are primarily resolved between those parties. MEILO may, at its discretion, assist by providing relevant non-confidential information from the Platform. For grievances about Platform decisions (suspension, content removal), contact the Grievance Officer listed in our Privacy Policy.

6.9 Payouts. MEILO does not currently process payments for services. If MEILO introduces payment processing or payouts, separate payment terms will apply and will be presented for acceptance before any financial feature is activated on your account.

7. Intellectual Property

The Platform — including its design, code, original content, features, and functionality — is and remains the exclusive property of MEILO and its licensors. The MEILO name, logo, and related names, marks, and slogans are trademarks of Gita Care Technologies Private Limited.

You may not use any MEILO trademark without our prior written permission. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right to you, except for the limited, revocable licence to use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. MEILO does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MEILO, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including any disputes with artists, studios, or other users. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to MEILO in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one thousand Indian rupees (₹1,000).

9. Suspension & Termination

MEILO may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms, the Artist Addendum, applicable law, or that is harmful to other users, MEILO, or third parties.

You may terminate your account at any time as described in Section 3. On termination, the licences you have granted under Section 4 and Section 6.2 survive only to the extent reasonably necessary for the operation, legal compliance, or anonymised analytics purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to applicable consumer protection law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Before resorting to formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at admin@meilotech.com and attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith for at least thirty (30) days.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email to the address associated with your account, and will take effect no earlier than fourteen (14) days after notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

When changes affect the Artist Addendum, artists may be prompted to re-accept the updated Terms on next login.
